The Oklahoma Educational Television Authority could be broadcasting on its second station by late January or early February, said Bob Allen, executive director.
In a telephone interview on Monday, Allen said the objection period ended Dec. 15 on the OETA Foundation's application to the Federal Communications Commission to acquire Channel 43 and its transmission facilities in Oklahoma City. He said OETA officials were unaware of any objections, but they would wait about two more days before confirming none were filed.
"If we hear of none, we will proceed full steam ahead," Allen said.
Efforts late Monday to obtain a status report on the application with the FCC were unsuccessful.
The channel, currently KAUT-TV, would be in addition to KETA-TV Channel 13. Allen said it would carry many of Channel 13's normal programs in different time slots, and would air an expanded offering...
