Bobby Reynolds was willing to do just about anything to receive a wild card into the main draw of the Weil Tennis Academy Challenger.
He offered to conduct clinics, speak with juniors and meet sponsors.
But tournament director Mark Weil asked Reynolds only to do a short media interview and appear at a players' party.
Promising he would make the most of his wild card, Reynolds came through.
The Atlanta area resident rallied from a set down and two
breaks in the third to beat Australia's Marinko Matosevic 3-6, 7-5, 7-5 to capture the $50,000 USTA Pro Circuit event's inaugural singles title on Sunday afternoon at the Ojai Valley Athletic Club.
