CARSON CITY _ One of the most heavily lobbied bills of the Legislature, a proposal to curb sealed court settlements, passed the Assembly on Friday and now returns to the Senate, where an earlier version died.
Assembly Bill 769 prohibits courts from sealing records dealing with civil cases involving public hazards.
Assembly members praised the "sunshine" bill as excellent consumer legislation and a good first step. The only vote against it was from Sparks lawmaker Bernie Anderson, a Democrat who said it didn't go far enough.
