Pop music fans who missed some of Las Vegas' biggest concert acts this summer can see top-selling acts Eminem, Dr. Dre, Christina Aguilera, Enrique Iglesias and No Doubt perform Saturday at the 2000 Radio Music Awards.
Or they can save the price of tickets and just watch it live on TV. America's all about choices.
Either way, they would also see performances by BBMak, Everclear, Joe Dee Messina, Nelly and 98 Degrees. The show hosts are Sugar Ray singer Mark McGrath and two of the Backstreet Boys. Award presenters include Ricky Martin and Vertical Horizon.
Actually, not many tickets are available to the general public. Most of the crowd will be made up of radio industry people, various celebrities and their friends, plus radio-contest winners from around the country.
This is only the second year for the Radio Awards, which was held at Mandalay Bay in 1999, but the event is already getting several upgrades.
Last year, tickets were $20-$50, and the two-hour show was broadcast on the WB network, garnering one of the WB's worst ratings of the year. On Saturday, tickets run $45-$150, and ABC will air all three hours live on the first night of the November sweeps ratings period.
