Avenue Q" is closing, but producer Kevin McCollum is sticking to his story that this grand experiment on the Las Vegas Strip is one with a happy ending.
"We are making money and that's one of the reasons why we're staying until May 28," he says. If the show was hemorrhaging money, "we'd be closed next week. The proof is the fact that we're running as long as we can."
The producers and Wynn Las Vegas jointly delivered the Valentine's Day bombshell, that "Q" will vacate the premises to make room for "Monty Python's Spamalot," originally booked for its own new theater.
