She trusts her own skin and is very relaxed about fashion. That's how the Not Your Mona girl is described, although it could well be the description of Nicky Pocovi herself, creator of this designer eyewear brand.
This twenty-something porteña always had her sights set on the United States, although since she went and came back, one could say that her heart is Argentine and visionary. Daughter of a family of four siblings (her greatest confidants), she admits that both Verónica, her mother, and Marcelo, her father, are her pillars and those who accompanied her in the adventure of entrepreneurship.
As she grew up, Nicky, who grew up in a family with an entrepreneurial culture, always knew that she would never negotiate her freedom. "I like to have flexibility with my schedule, with my routine, to be able to travel, for example. I don't like to follow rules. I always dreamed of being my own boss," she says.
She went to school in Buenos Aires, but with an American schedule because she was convinced that, when she finished high school, she was going to settle in the United States. And so she did. "In 2012 I went alone to Miami, where I studied two careers at the University of Miami: journalism and audiovisual media production," says Nicky.
This was the kickoff for her to make her way and specialize in branding. However, at the end of the four years that both degrees took him, in 2016 he decided to return to Buenos Aires. Sometimes distance tends to cause these things. "Being far away I experienced several turbulences in my family and that's why I decided to come back. I couldn't stand being alone anymore, far from home," she says. From that moment on, she started working...
