Frank Lloyd Wright's Taliesin in Spring Green, Wis., was awarded a $1.1 million federal grant at a White House ceremony last week.
Of the 62 grants awarded to preservation projects throughout the country, only eight recipients, including Taliesin, will receive more than $1 million.
Taliesin, which has been included on the National Trust for Historic Preservation's list of endangered historic properties, will use the grant to fix drainage problems that have enabled bad weather to wreak havoc on the architect's home and studio in recent years. The money will also go toward restoring damaged interior features and finishes.
