Britney Spears' fast-paced show drives young audience crazy

Madison -- It looks to be part concert tour and part children's crusade.
The common perception has it that the profusion of boy bands and teenage pop princesses on the music charts today is the product of the re-emergence of the young adolescent as an entertainment consumer.
Looking at Britney Spears' sellout concert Tuesday night at the Kohl Center, one wonders if that overshoots the demographic mark. A 14-year-old at the Kohl Center would probably have been in the more mature half of the crowd.
Based on Tuesday's turnout, the inhabitants of Britney Nation would appear to be mostly girls ages 10 to 13, with plenty of 8- and 9-year-olds swelling the ranks as well.
