Abstract
The Patchwork U.S. Public Health System
The U.S. public health system is an uneven patchwork. In the shadow of a pandemic, understanding this haphazard architecture is a step toward elucidating the U.S. paradox of enormous health expenditures but poor outcomes for population health.
