Purchase of famous home blocked

Springfield, Ill. -- The state's attorney general has blocked the state's plans to buy a house known internationally as an architectural masterpiece, saying this month that she questions its value.
The steel-and-glass Farnsworth House is considered one of the masterworks of famed architect Ludwig Mies van der Rohe. Lawmakers set aside $7 million for the house in 2001 after the owner announced plans to sell it.
