La violencia y sus manifestaciones en tres personajes de la literatura hispanoamericana: Nieves, Santa y Juana Lucero

Abstract

El tema de la violencia hacia el sujeto femenino es una constante en la literatura hispanoamericana de los siglos XIX y XX. El escritor observa su realidad con ojo en crítico y escruta en los factores socioculturales y económicos que afectan a los individuos. El personaje femenino se ve determinado por lo antes mencionado y por circunstancias familiares específicas, por lo regular se plantea la indefensión económica y física. La sociedad patriarcal lo define y lo determina en su hacer, decir y pensar. La belleza, la juventud y la orfandad constituyen los aspectos que lo condenarán a soportar la violencia dentro y fuera de la familia. Algunos deciden comerciar con su cuerpo porque no ven más alternativa y uno más enfrentará las adversidades en medio de la vorágine prerrevolucionaria.

The theme of violence towards the female subject is a constant in the Hispanic American literature of the 19th and 20th centuries. The writer observes his reality with a critical eye and scrutinizes the socio-cultural and economic factors that affect individuals. The female character is determined by the aforementioned and by specific family circumstances, economic and physical defenselessness usually arises. Patriarchal society defines it and determines it in its doing, saying and thinking. Beauty, youth and orphanhood are the aspects that will condemn him to endure violence inside and outside the family. Some decide to trade with their body because they see no alternative and one more will face adversity in the midst of the prerevolutionary maelstrom.
