Since the groundbreaking release of the radio-friendly album, The Lexicon of Love, commercial success has eluded this British outfit. A sad irony, since singer-songwriter Martin Fry is a master of the pop song formula.
The ABC lineup was once a cavalcade of New York and European club personalities. For Up, the band's fifth album, ABC has been pared down to just Fry and synthesizer programer Mark White.
