SIVASAGAR, March 4 -- The four-year-old tussle between the two management committees for rights over the famous Islamic Durgah of Hazrat Shah Miran, popularly known as Ajan Peer Sahib at Saraguri Chapori at Dikhowmukh here is finally over following the Gauhati High Court's order for an off the court settlement within a fortnight and Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma's observation that there could be no government grant to the shrine unless there is only one management committee.
Dr Sarma also roped in senior journalist Wasbir Hussain to bring the two sides to settle their issues through negotiation. In a press meet held in hotel Siddhartha here on Thursday, members of the two committees patched up their differences and vowed to work together for the development of the Durgah.
