Attention, Cudahy High School football fans:
The South Milwaukee Rockets will be back on your schedule next year.
The WIAA Board of Control on Friday approved a conference realignment proposal that shifts Burlington and South Milwaukee out of the Southeast Conference, starting next fall.
Burlington will join the just-revamped Southern Lakes Conference, making it an eight-team league.
And South Milwaukee will join the Woodland Conference, where one of the other 12 members will be the Rockets' next-door neighbor and archrival, Cudahy.
That will leave the Southeast with eight teams, improving its football scheduling options, or, more accurately, giving league members the chance to play two nonconference football games when, in past years, they had no chance to play nonconference games.
