According to Mariano Fortuny in the Delphos patent, it was not him but his partner, Henriette Negrin, to whom we owe the authorship of one of the most revolutionary dresses in fashion. Philippe Venet, decades later, put aside a brilliant career to devote himself fully to Hubert de Givenchy, his partner for more than seventy years. Most of the time, living in the shadow of a genius eclipses other great creators who could have inscribed their name in history with golden letters, but who chose to give up their prominence for love.Little is known about the sentimental life of Cristobal Balenciaga. The Basque designer, master of masters of haute couture, knew how to protect that terrain like no one else and it has not been until relatively recently that the general public has begun to be more aware of the role that Vladio d'Attainville had in the beginnings of his fashion house in Paris. The two formed a creative partnership that lasted until 1949, when D'Attainville passed away and caused Balenciaga to dress the entire Parisian society in mourning (without the latter being fully aware of why they wore black).
