Abstract

Abstract: Sign language is the manifestation of a code based on movements, expressions and face and body gestures that people from the deaf community carry out in order to transmit messages, learn and give testimony of what they feel and perceive of the environment. In light of the reality described, we considered proposing a translator application (SISTRAD) that allows the classroom educator to approach the students of the deaf community in the code that it manages, which will make it possible for non-hearing students of basic education to process learning knowledge in a similar way to students without hearing disabilities, to achieve linguistic inclusion that allows the development of capacities for reading, writing and learning in general. Keywords: Sign Language (LS); Natural Language Processing (NLP); translator application; linguistic inclusion; hearing impairment.
