Abstract

[...]case-based learning (CBL) is being used in the medical curriculum, so that students are exposed to the real-life medical problems. Case-based Learning; Competency-based Medical Education; Critical Thinking; Student Feedback; Teacher's Reflections; Teaching Module INTRODUCTION Biochemistry is one of the basic science subjects in the first phase of medical curriculum. [1] Studies indicate that the majority of students in undergraduate biochemistry, study with rote memorization of course content, without any attempts to implement higher cognitive learning styles to promote better understanding, active participation to create interest in the subject. Medical Council of India, now National Medical Council (NMC), has recently introduced competency-based medical education, to be implemented at the undergraduate level, wherein, there is ageneral need to introduce problem-solving, critical thinking, and communication skills, with reduced emphasis on traditional TL methods.
