JOHOR BARU, Fri. - Despite the hype that the Second Link would reduce traffic snarls from Singapore, it experienced its first major traffic jam today as thousands of Malaysian-bound vehicles made a beeline to the Gelang Patah checkpoint.
Motorists were taking advantage of a three-day weekend break, owing to the Good Friday holiday there.
The crawl, which started at 9am, stretched from the Bukit Timah Expressway in Singapore to the Gelang Patah checkpoint.
