(STF) - Love can overcome many things, including mental handicaps and food is more than just what you fill your stomach with. These and more in this week's video selections, writes Sharon Wong.
THE GREEN HOPE (Golden Star Video - 10 tapes) GROUPING together the talents of the new generation of young singers, this serial features Steven Fung, Yung Jo Yee, Mung Ka Wai and Chiu Chi Kay in their first TV roles.
And with the support of some veteran actors, not to mention an interesting plot, The Green Hope is definitely, well... hopeful.
Fong Ka Fai is a professional who forsakes everything when he is reunited with his long-lost brother Ka Him who has become a schizoid. This is especially unfortunate since he used to be a talented musical prodigy as a young child.
Fai is determined to look after Him at all costs but this upsets his wife who eventually demands a divorce. At the same time, Him has two close friends. Yuen Ying who is an autistic girl prone to stealing and Wai Man who is willing to stand by him through thick or thin.
Where does one draw the line between friendship and love? And will Him be able to decide what's important in his life? The Green Hope is a touching story of a brother's love and a boy's long and difficult journey into society and life itself.
