Introduction
Aging process is a process that every human will go through and become the final phase of a life. The population of the OA in Indonesia is increasing and is accompanied by a decrease in the level of health caused by a decrease in physical ability to fulfill their health needs (Badan Penelitian dan Pengembangan Kesehatan, 2013). Other changes that can be a problem in OA are changes in the pattern of activities that will not be the same as a young person. These changes will have an impact on fluctuations in blood pressure, increase risk for falls, decrease in the ability to maintain body balance and decrease their quality of sleep, which can affect the degree of health of the elderly (Wu et al., 2015).
The incidence of hypertension (increased blood pressure) in OA increases by 38%, and this condition is also followed by the decrease in quality of sleep and also increase risk for fall (Singh et al., 2017).The incidence of falls on OA has been reported at 46.7 and 90% were women (Carvalho et al., 2017). The main influencing factor on the incidence of falls in OA is the reduced ability of self-balance during daily activities. The increasing number of OA who experienced hypertension problems that have an effect on sleep and falls will have long-term effects that can be harmful. The death rate due to these conditions contributed quite high, which is 40% (WHO, 2013). However, previous research showed that the number of OA with hypertension tends to increase with a percentage of 31.30% (systolic) and 45.30% (diastolic). Another problem that can be faced by the OA in long-term care is the risk for fall which is also indicated by a high risk of falling by 39.1% low risk and 20.3% high risk (Susanto et al., 2019). The intervention that has been given to the OA with health problems at long-term care is to focus on providing pharmacological therapy. Pharmacological therapy alone is not enough and is not good enough to maintain the health status of the OA. Supporting treatment also contributing to maximize the health status of OA in long-term care (Jewpattanakul, 2012).
