The region's two-year housing slump has lots of construction folk crying in their beer.
But professional Sarasotan stand-up comedian Carmen Ciricillo -- "The Construction Comic" -- wants to help those in the construction industry forget their troubles, at least for one night.
Although he is not a contractor himself, but rather a professional comic, Ciricillo has decided that his annual show, which usually benefits a charity, will now benefit contractors.
His weeklong stint at McCurdy's Comedy Theatre in Sarasota -- Oct. 24 to 28 -- will offer free admission for those in the construction industry.
