Abstract

Este artículo reflexiona, a partir de la novela La biblioteca de París, de Janet Skeslien Charles —enmarcada en el plano histórico de la Biblioteca Americana de París, durante la Segunda Guerra Mundial— sobre los tópicos de finitud, formas de la crisis y de la violencia, derecho a la literatura, creación imaginativa e imaginación narrativa, entramados para comprender la biblioteca como espacio para habitar, en el que se hace disponible la lectura en tanto gesto de acogida frente a tiempos de incertidumbre y conflicto.

This article reflects, based on the novel The Paris Library, by Janet Skeslien Charles, framed on the historical plan of the American Library in Paris during World War II, the topics of finitude, forms of crisis and violence, the right to literature, imaginative creation and narrative imagination, as frameworks to understand the library as a space to inhabit, in which reading is made available as a welcoming gesture in times of uncertainty and conflict.
