NOUROOZ Impression is an Iranian film showcase being held at four locations in Malaysia at Golden Screen Cinemas until April 2.
Catch 10 Iranian gems at RM5 a ticket at GSC Mid Valley & GSC Pavilion until April 2 and at GSC 1 Utama & Gurney Plaza until March 26.
The films are:
* Twilight - This tale centres on Sare who lost her parents during an earthquake. She and her sister live in a hut far from society. One day, a boy passes their hut and something happens. Produced by Ghasem Jafari, starring Ronak Younesi, Khatereh Hatami and Aliream Nouraei.
* The Squeaking Shoes - When Ali's rich classmate wears a pair of squeaking shoes, he decides to buy a similar pair for himself, but he can't afford it. To raise the money, he writes the homework for his classmates. He finally saves enough but an unexpected event occurs. Written and directed by Shapour Gharib who quotes a Persian proverb that says: "Do your best and God will do the rest. I had not understood the meaning until I completed this film." Cast includes Akbar Abdi, Dariush Asadzadeh, Hamed Zeidi, Kobra Fakhri and Reza Emad.
