The end is once again nigh for the troubled but critically acclaimed Pimlico School in central London.
The distinctive building's chequered history of architectural awards, overheating, failed listing bids and falling glass panels could finally end in demolition.
Westminster City Council, which owns the angular concrete and glass building, is bidding for pounds 110 million in government school-building money for eight secondary schools and appears to favour a rebuild for Pimlico rather than the revamp championed by the original architect, John Bancroft.
