Helen Morley, one of the first pharmacists to successfully gain accreditation under the 'Skills for the Future' programme to carry out medicines use reviews, is presented with her certificate by Professor Clare Mackie, head of the Medway School of Pharmacy. Helen is a member of the Medway PCT Pharmacy Steering Group and was supported on the 'Skills' programme by the PCT. Well over 100 pharmacists have now received MUR accreditation using the 'Skills' programme, which is supported by an educational grant from GlaxoSmithKline. Also pictured are Hasseena Winter, Medway PCT's head of medicines management; PSNC chief executive Sue Sharpe and Linda Stephens, GSK's national pharmacy advisor; and Patrick Grice from C&D. The 'first time' pass rate among those submitting work for competency assessment is 82 per cent. Professor Mackie commented: "PCT pharmacists following the 'Skills for the Future' programme have indicated they find it quite challenging"
