[Symbol Not Transcribed] Secure Computing Corp. released Sidewinder G2 Firewall, its next-generation firewall technology. This hybrid system incorporates the firm's Type Enforcement technology and performance-enhanced SecureOS Unix from Sidewinder, as well as next-generation application proxy and enterprise management features from Gauntlet. Sidewinder G2 Firewall supports over 1,000,000 concurrent connections, wire-speed stateful inspection processing, multi-threaded proxies that load balance Layer-7 application filtering across four Intel Xeon processors in a high-end appliance -- all managed from a next-generation Windows management tool. Complementing the firewall is the Sidewinder G2 Enterprise Manager, a security appliance for the enterprise, which delivers both single-point policy management and an audit-log and configuration backup repository for Sidewinder G2 Firewalls, centrally managed from a Windows-based software package.
