CITYWIDE / Macy Fireworks Set For East River Viewing Macy's will celebrate the bicentennial of the U.S Constitutionwith more than 28,600 firework bursts over the East River on Saturdayat 9:20 p.m.
The show can be observed from the banks of the East River between 23rd and 42nd Streets. It will last 39 minutes and can be viewed in its entirety on Channel 11.
Glittering gems, butterflies, chrysanthemums, silver swallows, multicolored peonies, rockets, and streamers will illuminate the sky. Beams from 14 giant searchlights and two sky tracers will create a 20-mile colored rainbow. New York City Fire Department boats will spray red, white and blue cascades of water into the river.
