A Stern Warning Given to Howard As far as the Fox TV network is concerned, controversial radio personality Howard Stern can trash anyone he wants - except his future TV employers. The word from Fox is that Stern, who has taped five one-hour pilots for a Fox TV talk show, better stop bad-mouthing the fledgling network if he wants to become part of its lineup. We hear that Fox program exec Garth Ancier delivered a stern warning to that effect to Howard's agent, Don Buchwald. During his drive-time show on K-Rock, Stern has wondered aloud why his show needs to be tested when Fox' current Sunday night lineup is so bad - not exactly the words of a team player. Fox is moving cautiously with Stern's show, testing it before focus groups in California. Our spies say the pilots will likely be aired in New York and Philadelphia only, where Stern's radio show is currently heard, until a final decision is made. The show, hosted by Stern and his radio sidekick Robin Quivers, features mostly musical guests. A spokesman at Fox denied Ancier made any such call. Stay tuned to see if Stern's Fox fury continues.
