Edifício parnaso: intervenção em arquitetura do movimento moderno

Abstract

A arquitetura do período do Movimento Moderno é parte crucial do nosso património, não só arquitetónico, mas também do património intelectual, sendo um testemunho de novas formas de conceber, de pensar e de viver, das inovações tecnológicas que a arquitetura integra naquele período e que ainda se repercutem na atualidade.

Apesar destes edifícios serem relativamente recentes, apresentam hoje problemas e desajustes, existindo a necessidade de intervenção.

Como meio de se formar uma abordagem crítica e consciente na intervenção sobre edifícios de valor patrimonial e arquitetónico, é analisada a evolução do campo da intervenção e questionada a sua possível especificidade no âmbito da arquitetura do Movimento Moderno.

O Edifício Parnaso é escolhido como objeto de estudo deste trabalho, devido ao seu reconhecido valor no campo da arquitetura e urbanismo, e como exemplar representativo da arquitetura do período do Movimento Moderno em Portugal.

Começando pelo estudo do objeto, pretende-se chegar aos critérios de intervenção a ter em conta e a metodologia para uma intervenção adequada, de forma a respeitar a autenticidade do edifício.

The Modern Movement of architecture is a crucial part of our heritage, not only architectural, but also intellectual heritage, being a testimony of new ways of conceiving, of thinking and of living, a testimony of the technological innovations that architecture used in that period, that still have impact today.Despite of the young age of this buildings, today they present problems and dysfunctions, therefore the need for an intervention.

To create a critical and conscious intervention in this buildings, that are loaded of heritage and architectural values, it is necessary to study this field of intervention and its evolution, and finaly question its specificity within the architecture of Modern Movement.

'Edifício Parnaso' was chosen as the object of study of this work, due to its recognized value in the field of architecture and urbanism, and because it is a representativa example of the architecture of Modern Movement in Portugal.

Starting with the object's study, it is intended to reach the intervention criteria to be taken into account and the methodology for proper intervention, in order to respect the authenticity of the building.
