FLUSHING / Hall of Science To Help City Train Teachers The city school system, facing a shortage of qualified science teachers, is turning to the New York Hall of Science for help.
The Board of Education is supporting a program, to be announced formally tomorrow, in which Hall of Science officials will help train students from five area colleges interested in becoming science teachers.
The new venture, called the Career Ladder Program, will involve students from Queens College, Long Island University, City College, Pace University and Brooklyn College. They will work part time explaining exhibits at the Hall of Science in Flushing Meadows-Corona Park while taking courses in teaching.
