Construction started yesterday on two concourses at Long Island-MacArthur Airport to protect passengers from possible danger and inclement weather.
Set to open to travelers next May, the $3.2-million ramps are the first at the Islip Town-owned facility, where traffic has increased from 163,336 passengers in 1981 to 1.2 million passengers last year.
