Gov. Mario Cuomo and state legislative leaders yesterday released a list of 390 infrastracture improvement projects that would be funded under a proposed bond act on the Nov. 3 ballot.
The list was whittled from more than 1,000 applications for the $2.5 billion in government assistance projects called the New, New York, Cuomo said.
"It also demonstrates a clear need and strengthens my belief that Proposal One has great capacity, as part of our New, New York agenda, to create private-sector jobs," Cuomo said.
New York City projects include the Hunts Point Food Distribution Center in the Bronx, the Brooklyn Harbor Piers 1-5, the Whitehall Ferry Terminal in Manhattan and the Queens West commercial and residential project.
Supporters of the bond act say that the projects will create 24,000 construction jobs, and 106,000 more jobs when the projects are completed.
