Art at the Arch
Ghanaian textile artist Selina Akua Ahoklui will turn the landmark Memorial Arch in Brooklyn's Grand Army Plaza into an art studio, noon-4 p.m. Saturday. She will teach visitors how to create adinkra, an ancient traditional form of Ghanaian printing on fabric, made from stamps carved from calabash gourds. (Ahoklui's workshop will be in the Trophy Room, which is inside the massive arch, a post-Civil War landmark that unknown to many, also contains an observation deck that can be visited on weekends.)
