IT'S BEEN A CAREER of two distinctly different decades for Squeeze. In its first 10 years, the London group broke out of the new wave movement, scored international hits ("Tempted" and "Black Coffee In Bed") released at least one classic album ("East Side Story"), played to a sold-out Madison Square Garden, crumpled under the pressure and split only to realize its mistake, and reformed and scored new hits. The second decade has been considerably less rewarding, however: airplay and album sales are now a distant memory.
