Elk jaar worden honderden mensen behandeld voor vuurwerkletsel. Bovendien blijven andere negatieve gevolgen van vuurwerk op de publieke gezondheid (gehoorschade, fijnstof en milieu, overlast) in het huidige debat over de (on)wenselijkheid van vuurwerk onderbelicht.
