There's no question who's the boss on "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" these days.
Judith Light appears on the NBC crime drama in the recurring role of the police team's bureau chief. In the season finale Friday (10 p.m., WNBC/4), her character, Elizabeth Donnelly, joins Assistant District Attorney Alexandra Cabot (Stephanie March) in seeking the death penalty for a woman (Sharon Lawrence, "NYPD Blue") claiming self-defense in the killing of an ex-convict who allegedly attacked several prostitutes.
