Abstract

Inclusion Criteria Bacterial isolates included for study are Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli, Proteus mirabilis and Pseudomonas aeruginosa obtained from surgical site wound infections Exclusion Criteria Bacterial isolates Streptococcus pyogenes, Enterococcus faecium, Acinetobacter baumani, Citrobacter freundi, Enterobacter, etc., were excluded in the present study. [12] Test Organisms Preparation Under aseptic conditions using sterile cotton swabs pus samples were collected, inoculated on Blood agar and Mac Conkey agar and were incubated at 37°C for 24 h. Identification of bacteria was done using standard microbiological techniques which included Gram staining and biochemical reactions from positive cultures after incubation. [13] In spite of different isolations, the present study was performed using bacteria mentioned in the inclusion criteria (S. aureus, E. coli, P mirabilis, and P aeruginosa). [...]1 mL solution from the last test tube was discarded to make the volume equal.
