Blame neglect and other human factors for the deterioration of the New York State Pavilion, the rusting remnant of the 1964-65 World's Fair, a report said yesterday.
The World Monuments Fund report listed the site as among the world's 100 most endangered. The group contends that global warming, political conflict, pollution, development and modern lifestyles are threatening humanity's architectural heritage.
Also named were areas of New Orleans, Route 66, the Church of the Nativity in Bethlehem, cultural sites in Iraq and Peru's Machu Picchu ruins.
