An injection of drugs or bullets in the chest? A criminal sentenced to death by a Utah court gets that final choice. And all too often in making it, the condemned takes a final jab at the state, its people and the system that ruled he must die.
Forty of the 50 people executed in this state have chosen the firing squad. Before 1983 the other option was hanging. Now it is lethal injection.
