After a very close family friend was diagnosed with breast cancer two months ago, 20-year-old Jemma Percey was left thinking about what she could do to make a difference and show her support.
She organised for the club to take part in a Pink Sports Day, which will take place from midday today at Sky Bus Oval, Lauderdale, in support of Breast Cancer Network Australia.
The woman, has since had a double mastectomy and is about to start chemotherapy.
She believes this event could be a first for women’s footy in the state.
“It’s very exciting,” Ms Percey said.
