Music is his driving force and motive, his source of inspiration and joy. It is the means by which he soothes his sorrows. It is his grounding cable. Lucho Paz (Chiclayo, 1963), one of the most privileged voices of Peruvian cumbia, does not imagine his days away from the stage, much less from the public; even though -according to the musician himself- his continued existence represents a risk to his health. "The doctor told me that if I wanted to live longer, I should change my lifestyle," he says.
Sixteen years ago, the interpreter of great musical hits such as "Tu amor fue una mentira" and "El casorio" suffered a heart attack, for which he underwent a double coronary bypass surgery. Since then, his health was weakened, despite this he never left the stage.
"The bypass they put in me that time stopped working, it no longer irrigated blood, that's why they operated me again. About 20 days ago I had a coronary angioplasty. Again they recommended me to take care of my meals, sleep well, not to stress and take my medicines. ", assures the northern artist.
