Abstract

The innovations that orthodontics as a profession has seen in the last two decades is tremendous. From recording impressions, diagnosing and analysing the malocclusion, designing and fabricating custom appliances to monitoring usage of these appliances and the treatment progress, everything can be done digitally. Conventional appliances require more treatment time and rely on skill of the orthodontist; while the orthodontists’ skills in diagnosis and treatment planning and mechanics are irreplaceable, the digital tools currently available can enhance the treatment efficiency, reduce the treatment time and improve patient comfort and quality of care provided to them. This paper aims to update the current orthodontic professionals about digital workflow that can be followed in their practise to keep themselves up to date and thus provide better care to their patients
