Former Kansas City Royals pitcher Mark Gubicza was named the baseball coach at Chaminade High of West Hills on Thursday. Gubicza, who played 12 years with the Royals before finishing his career with the Anaheim Angels in 1997, replaces Scott Drootin, who stepped down three weeks ago after five years with the Eagles.
Gubicza, who resides in Porter Ranch and is a baseball analyst for Fox Sports Net and Fox Sports Radio, coached a Northridge Little League team to the AA Minor League championship this year and was recently an assistant for a highly successful 14-year old travel team this summer.
