UPPER WEST SIDE / Natural Showcase for 63 New Films "Rock Around the Kremlin" makes its U.S. debut among the 63 filmdocumentaries featured this month at the 10th Anniversary MargaretMead Film Festival at the American Museum of Natural History.
"Rock Around the Kremlin" tells the story of the generation gap in the Soviet Union as symbolized by the rise of rock 'n' roll. It is only recently that the Soviet government has officially recognized the music form, although rock `n' roll has been popular with young Soviets for many years.
"Spark Among the Ashes" and "To Taste a Hundred Herbs" also are among the 32 documentaries premiering in New York during the festival, which is scheduled to run Sept. 14 through Sept 18 at the museum, located at Central Park West at 79th Street.
