The Brics group, made up of Brazil, Russia, India, Chinaand South Africasince 2010, decided at its recent summit to expand as of January 1, 2024, with six additional countries: Argentina, Egypt, Iran, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia and Ethiopia. The eleven countries account for 37 percent of the world's GDP (Gross Domestic Product) and their currencies represent 6 percent of all countries' international reserves.
