Abstract

Teaching Practice and Digital Competence: The Case of an Ecuadorian Public University Abstract: This article reports the study that aimed to characterize the pedagogical practices and digital competencies of the teaching staff of an Ecuadorian public university. [...]a baseline is created to assume that the improvement of teaching quality in higher education involves the application of digital competencies and highlights the importance of generating, in teachers, the culture of self-reflection, as evidenced in the faculty of this university. Keywords: Teaching Practice; Teacher Digital Competence; Higher Education; Educational Innovation; Teaching and gender. 1.Introducción La incorporación de las tecnologías de la información y la comunicación (TIC) en los procesos de enseñanza y aprendizaje se intensifica en los últimos años, incluso previo a la emergencia sanitaria mundial a causa de la COVID-19. (2015) resaltan las características del TPI y su aplicación para describir las prácticas pedagógicas de profesores en áreas STEM comparadas con otros instrumentos de auto reporte.
