In its 221st session, held this September 9, the Board of Directors of Carnaval de Barranquilla S.A.S. unanimously appointed Melissa Cure Villa as Queen of the Carnival of Barranquilla 2024. Read: A journalist is the new queen of the Carnival of Barranquilla 2024
Melissa is a 25 year old Barranquilla native, Social Communicator with emphasis in Organizational Communication from the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana, she studied music at Conchita Salcedo's Academy and dance at Julie de Donado's School.
In the Carnival of Barranquilla she has participated in the Comparsa de Tradición Popular Selva Africana of the Llanos family, as a spectator and has closely accompanied several Queens in their retinues and different parades of the Festival.
