She was the first well-known woman to star on the cover of the now defunct Interviú -until then, women were anonymous-, made 16 films in one year, had relationships with men such as Felipe González and Juan Carlos I and was one of the highest-grossing and best-paid actresses in Spanish cinema... only to end up living on the streets and looking for food in garbage cans.
She is Nadiuska. In order to shed light on her origin, the facts that lead her to this situation, to contrast some malicious rumors and the stories invented by her former manager, Damián Rabal; journalist Valeria Vegas presents El enigma de Nadiuska (Nadiuska's enigma).
This documentary series, directed and narrated by the also author of La mejor actriz de reparto (Temas de hoy), has three 40-minute episodes that allow us to reflect on the less noble parts of fame in the seventies while bringing us closer to the actress of the "destape" as it happened before with La Veneno or Manolita Chen.
The Nadiuska enigma has testimonies of José Sacristán, Alaska, La Prohibida, Andrea Duro, Berta Vázquez, Angy Fernández, Anna Allen, Jorge Sanz, Máximo Valverde, Lidia San José or the actresses of the "destape" Silvia Aguilar, Jenny Llada, Sara Mora or Carmen Platero. Among all of them, they will help to profile an artist who, as seen in the series, was not even known for sure where she came from.
In the plot gaps or when the story requires it, it is the social chronicler herself who gets in front of the camera and tells the facts, although in the presentation of the documentary series at the International South Fest in Cádiz she confessed that it was something she did not like to do.
To know Nadiuska's story -and not only hers, as the series will host the birth of the Spanish #MeToo, thanks to actresses who are already out of the industry and can speak- we will have to wait until October 29, when the first chapter will premiere on Atresplayer.
