Abstract

Secondary schools of this nation have as a general goal the meeting of needs of all children and youth. Generally included as one of the more specific aims of the school is the need of preparation of all youth for meaningful involvement basic in the democratic processes of our society. The need to move closer to the achievement of this goal becomes more important as students demand greater participation in the making of decisions involving their own situations and society demands greater political involvement and activity of all its people including youth.
