Abstract

Considerable research concerning student response to literature has been conducted in recent months. These studies have been generally a classification of verbal response, either oral or written, and perhaps indirectly a suggestion of what student response should be. The results of the research indicate primarily that knowledge about response to literature is fragmentary; in addition there is very little said about a means of eliciting that response.
